I'm pretty fed up with firefox updating so often. Is there a way to make it restore the original layout each time, or do I have to work at understanding all the new and to me useless stuff they keep adding on? It appears to be to bloatware nowadays! Thanks

No it should not be updating weekly not making large changes unless you were way behind in versions (Check Version #/Force Update under Help then About). As for changing the lay out have no idea. Try this : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-says-its-just-updated-every-time-it-starts

You may want to check just in case : Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help : https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/ Post in only 1 forum, then wait.

Thanks. I've had it on 'auto notify update available', and kept it up to date. Nowadays it's very difficult to discover exactly which versions have been available, but they have been numerous I think. It's very hard to get at the facts.

One piece of bloatware that has come with the latest version is called Widevine, and is owned by Google. Goodness knows what info it passes back to Google (there's no privacy info shown). Having discovered it, I've disabled it, but there is no option to uninstall it. Is that possible please? It also seems impossible to uninstall Flash.

Thanks
