Filling in web forms in FF57, dropdown list behavior has changed requiring extra steps. How can I change it back?

This was the primary reason I refused to use Chrome at work, and now Firefox acts the same way.

When filling out a web form with dropdown lists, using the keyboard to make a selection, before FF57 hitting the Tab key would enter the selection and advance the cursor to the next field. Now hitting the Tab key only enters the selection, but the cursor remains on the dropdown field. I have to hit Tab again to advance to the next field. I fill out a LOT of web forms for work, and most of them are repetitive (like selecting work location and department from a dropdown) so I quickly get past those fields using muscle memory. This new behavior is really tripping me up. Is there any way the previous behavior can be restored?
