After the upgrade to Firefox Quantum, I've had nothing but trouble. When I try to type, it lags. Scrolling is slow also. I've tried starting in safe mode and refreshing Firefox and neither of those things helped. I'm ready to give up on Firefox. Any suggestions?

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. As I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

You could try this please : Go the Menu then Tools --> Options --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Hardware Acceleration might have also been a issue so turn it off. Run it later and see as you turn things back on and test it, and again. Restart Firefox after making these changes please.

  1. Use ONE of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click on help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

Was this ever solved? I'm having the same issue, but resetting, refreshing, safe mode, or even uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help. I'm about ready to give up on Firefox and go back to Chrome.
