1. Sorry about the loss of your pre-57 add-ons! To to ask the obvious: did you click on "Find a replacement"? Were any of the replacements that were offered OK?
2. As the days go by, more and more add-ons are being ported to the new 57 compatible addons.

This quantum is just the worst version ever made. I fixed it by moving to chrome. After 10 yrs.

Where there is no ChatZilla for Chrome though there is kind of a IRC client for it.

How about using a stand alone IRC client such as Hexchat https://hexchat.github.io/ and depending on how extensive you use IRC for as there is also some web based IRC clients like http://mibbit.com/ and https://kiwiirc.com/
