Firefox replaces all text with boxes with the left A in it, how do I fix it without clobbering my bookmarks and auo logins?
My Firefox wired for a few years. All of a sudden It replace all text on all websites I visited with boxes with the letter A in it.I want to fix it without losing my bookmarks or the user/ password files. I am on a Mac running OS 10.9.5 and running Firefox 56.4 (64 bit) on a mid 2010 Mac Pro tower.

Hi !
We've had a lot of these reports lately ......
Would you try this :
Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) Promise to be careful, if asked) Type and look for the preference : security.sandbox.content.level and set its value to 1 (one) (default value is 3 )
Close and restart Firefox for the change to take effect.
Everything back to normal now, or still no joy ?

Note that this issue is fixed in Firefox 57 in a different way (adding some font files and directories to a white list), so remember to reset this pref via the right-click context menu to the default value once Firefox 57 has been released since this is a security feature.
