No. In PB mode a separate in memory cookie Jar is used, so issues with cookies.sqlite shouldn't have effect.

This is more likely a permission issue (the same permissions apply to regular and Private Browsing mode).

"Page Info -> Permissions" would normally show three possible choices (allow, allow for session, block). I'm seeing only one choice, but in your case the default is selected.

Do you have any extensions that deal with cookies?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

That screenshot shows the location used for the disk cache and not the main profile folder that is in "AppData\Roaming".

Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so make sure to look in the correct location. Location used for the main profile in "AppData\Roaming" that keeps your personal data.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Location used for the disk cache and other temporary files in "AppData\Local".

That icon is likely added by an extension, so you will have to disable or remove this extension.

Extensions that do not have a "Remove" button are installed globally by other software and are not under control of the Firefox extension manager. Globally installed extensions are usually found via a registry scan or are installed in a location that Firefox scans for installed extensions.

Extensions installed globally need to be removed via the settings (Options/Preferences) of the program that has added this extension or this program has to be uninstalled via "Control Panel -> Programs". In Firefox you can only disable such an extension.

You can find the install location of a specific extension in the extensions.json file in the profile folder. You can open the extensions.json file in the Scratchpad and search for this extension. The descriptor field should list its install location.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

The MDN links probably do not work because of a language redirect and the article is only present for en-US. Try to add 'en-US' to the link

Can't you right-click the icons and click "Remove from Toolbar"?

If you right-click an icon on the toolbar and click "Remove from Toolbar" then only this icon will be removed and moved to the Customize palette.

Ok there was no mention of this so ... This the proper way to submit a crash report : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support Please follow this to do so.

When you copy/paste it runs all over the page and is not able to read plus there is info still that is need that turns up when we click the link.

I not that your running kaspersky. Update it please. Can you go to their forum and search around and see if any one is having the issue that you are. Thanks.

Going to the ESR version seems to be the best option since we are not getting to solve your issue in 20+ answers. Download from above posted URL then uninstall and Install ESR.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
