I just did a "refresh" and changed to the 64-bit Firefox, and everything looks better--the plus sign is back for adding a new tab, and everything works well. Firefox tells me I have the latest version. But there is a problem. I don't see my bookmarks, nor do my tabs and extensions seem to be synced with my office computer. I seem to be signed in: my name and username appear when I go to 3-bar menu, options, sync. Now what?

You can open about:sync-log via the location bar to see if there are recent error logs available. You can upload a recent log if the log is too big to put in a reply.

Actually I finally figured out my problem: I needed to tell "customize" to put my bookmarks and menu bar at the top of the screen! Thanks for the quick reply!
