Fire fox displays less detail than IE. Firefox is devoid of detail
Hello Forefox technicians, My Firefox has been showing much less detail than Internet Explorer for some time. When I switch from FF to IE the contast is remakable. When using Firefox, images are shown, but text is sparse and displays in bright blue with occassionally black. Many features such as buttons and links are not visible. When buying online I have to guess where the buttons are, it is annoying. On IE that does not occurr. Have you any idea what is wrong with my setup. It has been recently updated, but the updates do not remedy the fault. I have disabled or removed all but the essential add ons.
Best wishes

Separate Issue; Your System Details shows;
Installed Plug-ins
Shockwave Flash 26.0 r0
Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.
Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html Uninstall Flash Player | Mac
Then reinstall the latest version.
Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.
Flash Player Version 26.0.0.137

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Load the web page. Then, to reload the page bypassing the cache and force a fresh retrieval; Ctrl+Shift+R (Mac=Command+Shift+R)

Hello Fred, Many thanks for your swift response. I have deleted all but the latest flash player downloaded today. I have also deactivated the likes of Kaspersky web protection but to no avail.
Did you not see the attachment of my BBC News page?

Hi Barry !
You inadvertently marked your last post as 'Chosen Solution' - you can rectify that by clicking the Undo button on the right side.
Fred could not have seen your screenshot, as it apparantly failed to
upload .......
Would you try again, please ?
Thank you in advance !

Hi again, Barry !
You quoted my last post - did not undo the 'Chosen Solution', nor do we see a screenshot appear ......
Hello Happy112, I thought I did include a screen shot. I have one saved but pasting it in is proving illusive. I will try again. I is taking over fifteen minutes I will repost. Thanks Happy112

Bummer ! This must be so frustrating for you ! TeamViewer is no option for us (sorry !) Don't give up just yet .....
Just had a (tiny) brainwave : Have you tried what Fred suggested in his first post - the part about possible updates for your graphics drivers ? Maybe you'd like to try that first - who knows : that just might do the trick (fingers crossed !).
Hello again Happy112. You terminology may be different to mine , do you mean Flash Player and Shockwave? I have deleted and re-downloaded both. Interestingly I have just downloaded Opera and it is fully operational - no pun intended. It worked first time. best wishes

I do not have GOOGLE on my PC - I am suspicious of Google. Is that a clue???

There are the players (flash, HTML5) and there are the graphics drivers.
See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

No, I was referring to this part of FredMcD's first post :
See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Have you considered that ?
(And Fred and I posted simultaneously ...... )

No, I think it's safe to say that Google has nothing to do with this.
My thanks to you all for such swift responses. I have just compared my Firefox installation with Opera and IE Firefox Firfox scored 468 v Opera 518 on HTLM5 site. Does that convey anything useful?

I should have asked you this before :
You mentioned the BBC News page (which looks fine to me, using Firefox),
but do you have this problem on other pages as well ?
Would be great if this was restricted to just one website or page ......
Make sure you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.
- Options/Preferences -> Content: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"
Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.
This setting affects background images.

Did my page image of Internet Explore upload to you? The purpose was to compare with my earlier upload of the page image of my Firefox display.
