Firefox ESR 52.2 Wn XP

more options

I installed ESR in January. It was fine until this latest upgrade, 52.2. Now pages won't open properly, getting page is not responding, or Firefox is not responding, flash plug in crashes (& yes I turned off hardware accelerator). I"m having a lot of problems on my FB games, too. I'm constantly closing the page & re-opening it and of course geeing "Restore page". I decided to use Chrome and, guess what. no more problems. I'd rather continue with Firefox, but it's become a major hassle. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Windows XP/Vista/Server 2003 are no longer supported by regular Firefox releases. These users should migrate to ESR 52.

Just like I mentioned!

Have you checked for malware/adware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware

Cleaning your cache is good also as well as running MS Disk Cleanup

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Let me reply to both posts. The first thing I did is scan for malware/adware. I clean my cache all the time. I've used safe mode, too & no. my security software is not causing a problem. As, I mentioned the problems started with the latest ESR upgrade & I know from past experience with a Firefox updates, not all are good.
