How to delete and e maill account

more options

Thunderbird will not recognize my Yahoo mail account password. The fix seems to be to delete the account and reinstall. However, I cannot find how to delete the account, I have tried settings, options and tools and nothing seems to contain this function. I realize it is probably simple, but I could use some help here. I am using windows 10 on a Surface Pro computer with Thunderbird 45.8.0. Kathy in Cincinnati

Turn on 'Allow apps that use less secure sign in' in your Yahoo settings. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html

Note, that doesn't mean that using Thunderbird is less secure. It's just Yahoo letting you jump through hoops.

I'm sorry but there is not such setting that I can find in yahoo anywhere and more particularly there is no such setting on the page that links in your message. Any idea where it would be?

Until you turn on Less Secure Apps at Yahoo you can delete the account as many times as you wish but you are not going to get anywhere. If you cannot find it with the provided instructions you need to ask Yahoo how to use their email service.
