Selecting a new URL by any method Firefox seem to hang for a long time, in order to complete the load I click on the 'x' at the end of the address bar then click on the curved arrow(reload) to actually load the new page. My system is clean(have active anti virus, etc). Other browsers (Edge, IE) behaviour is correct. It appears like if there was a dns resolution problem except for the fact that a page reload will correct the problem until the next url. Since I am running WinPatrol WAR & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware I have also disabled them looking for effect, however Firefox behaviour did not change. If this was an occasional occurance I would not be looking for assistance, however it is persistent and I want to use Firefox.

Chosen solution

Is this with all sites, some, a few?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Interesting!!! Either starting Firefox in safe mode or shift click on bookmark solves the problem. Do you know the cause?

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.

Disabled all add-ons after restart all is fine, Enabled on at a time/restart FF everything is fine. Now I am back to where I was and everything is working OK, but now I can track it when/if it resurfaces. Thank you for your help.
