Video controls are not shown; back button does not work

more options

On several news sites (say, cbs.com), when a video is playing, the controls (start/stop/etc.) are not displayed. Also the back-button needs to be pressed many times to go back to the previous page. I believe this problem was supposed to have been fixed (Ref: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1111953), but appears to have come back. I am running Firefox 50.0.2 on Windows 7.0 64 Bits - fully updated. Will a setting change fix this problem, or is it a software bug? May thanks.

Hello :)

I'm even running Firefox 50.0.2a on win7 and all Sites works as well as they have to do!

There are several possible things that could cause your problem!

1. Are there any Add-ons, plugins, special settings (example>"about:config") or modified systhem- settings or programms, who could block or modify data?

2. Do you have the latest flashPlayer- plugin and is it normally working?

3. Are there any offline- websiteData, who could cause that Problem?

4. Works JScript well?

5. Have you blocked any website- content? Reset the Settings: click the "i"- button in the adress line | then ">" | More Information | Permissions

If you don't understand anything I said just ask it :)

I need more details!

PS: I must say I even don't use AdobeFlash^#^ (cause it's horrible! Ask the pages you're on, if they can sent their content in HTML5 which works without Plugins and much more stable and secure!)

Have a nice day :)

Thanks, NA0341 for the good list. My notes on your list are as follows:

1. Not that I know of. I have not changed any of the settings. The "always active" add-ons include Citrix Receiver, OpenH264 Video Codec (Cisco; installed by Mozilla), Primetime Content Decription (Adobe), Flash, and Wildevine Content Decrupton (Google). All others are "Ask to Activate".

2. Flash version is 23.0.r0.

3. My Firefox deletes all data upon exit (except the login data).

4. JS seems to be ok. I have not noticed probelms.

5. I have not blocked any web-site content.

My Firefox is 50.0.2 (no "a"). I do not know if that makes a difference.

I took a snap shot of the window. It seems that the content portion is shifted to the left and bottom. That might explain the missing controls. Please see the enclosed file. BTW, IE and Chrome do not show this problem.

Thanks again for your guidance.
