I keep getting a notice asking to permit Firefox make changes to my computer. I have newest version. Should I be concerned about my online security?

I read a similar question and the answers to it, and my computer is in line with the guidelines the responders gave. I am concerned with where this thing came from and if it has compromised my computer's security in any way. Instead of clicking 'no' I simply close the window and Firefox home page comes up immediately. My computer has the usual security and I'm receiving no alarms, but it's still disconcerting. Thanks for any feedback :-)
