After Mail Import from Yahoo Thunderbird Calendar Clears When Thundbird is Closed and Restarted

I am trying Thunderbird and have found a problem that I cannot find a resolution for. I have exported my calendar events from Yahoo mail several times and imported them through events and tasks into Thunderbird several times. The events are visible in Calendar after importing. After closing Thunderbird and restarting the events no longer appear in Thunderbird's calendar. The entire calendar is blank as it was before importing. I have created new events in Thunderbird, but they do not show on the calendar after closing and restarting Thunderbird.

I get the event notification from Yahoo Mail when the event is due ie I received notification of an event this am.

How do I resolve this issue so that the Thunderbird calendar not only shows my events, but new events are actually added to calendar?

I tried to add attachments, but the files will not upload.

Regards, Jeff
