cannot download windows updates

I use Firefox as my primary system, but I also have windows explorer as an alternate.

Firefox does not allow me to download windows updates. I never get a message from Firefox asking is the download is authorized,and I never get a change in the windows updates loading status.

Microsoft updater works thru Windows Interner Explorer only. Press the Windows icon, and select Windows Update. It is also available when you open Win IE in the menus.
