Sites: Daum fancafe's, like http://cafe.daum.net/AweSomeBaby (won't be all that useful to know since you need an account to use it so most people can test things out but eh :P)

When I went there less than a month ago, everything worked fine. But now, when I try to click the button to add a picture to a comment/post, literally NOTHING HAPPENS. No errors, nothing; the button might as well not be there. It works perfectly fine in Chrome, and I have tried changing settings, safe-mode, and even a new profile, but it still just does nothing. Checking the coding, it's set up with Shockwave/Flash, but no amount of playing with those settings or checking for updates makes it work.

I just really don't understand why Firefox is suddenly acting like the button isn't there when no real chances have been made to anything that I am aware of.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Sorry for the late reply, had to do a completely new install of Windows 7 (unrelated issue; brown-outs and SSDs don't mix). But, this problem still persists even on a brand new install, generic/updated everything. None of the above helped either, it's still as if the button might as well not be there even though other flash thingys are running just fine right next to it in Firefox and the button works exactly as it's supposed to in Chrome. I checked the web console in Firefox, and it appears to be loading the .swf file that it's supposed to run normally, but the button has become unclickable - I might as well be clicking on white space, the pointer doesn't even change.

That it's still happening on a new install rules out a lot of what I would think of as far as what could be causing the problem (incompatible addons, settings, and so on), so I'm not exactly sure what to do next :/

Go to your local department / electronics store and look around for a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that is useful for you. The lowest price is $50 + -. There are also units on the market that plug into the computer. So if the battery gets low, will shut down the computer to protect it.

Are you still using Firefox 49.0.1 ? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version 49.0.2

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful. (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste async and pause while the list is filtered (3) Double-click the dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false

This might not take effect until the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again.

One of the headline changes in Firefox 48-49 is e10s, which separates the browser interface process from the page content process. The performance impact of this can vary a lot between systems, so it would be helpful to know whether you have this feature turned on. To check that, either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, check the row for Multiprocess Windows and see whether the number on the left side of the fraction is greater than zero. If so, you are using e10s.

If you are using e10s:

To help evaluate whether that feature is causing this problem, you could turn it off as follows:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste autos and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 preference to switch the value from true to false

Note: the exact name of the preference may vary, but it will start with browser.tabs.remote.autostart

At your next Firefox startup, it should run in the traditional way. Any difference?
