If I create account now, do I lose all my customizations?

I used to use Chrome, but I have switched to Firefox for a few years now. When I downloaded Firefox, I customized it without creating an account. As years passed, my Firefox now is highly customized and I don't want to lose everything. So I want it sync to an account, so when I get a new laptop, I can just log into that account. Also I want my Firefox app to be synced too. How do I link an account to my current, highly customized Firefox? I fear that if I just create an account now, I will have to start new.

If you do not have an existing account, your browser should not be changed when you setup Sync on your computer.

If you are concerned with losing your data, you can create a backup of your Firefox profile, which you can restore later if something goes wrong.

Note: The Sync feature is not a data backup service and should not be used as such. You should continue to make regular backups of your Firefox profile to prevent data loss.
