Reader View Often Truncates the Top of New York Times Articles

I like to use Reader View on the New York Times site, to eliminate some of that site's javascript shenanigans. But on approximately a third of the articles I read, the top portion of the article fails to appear in Reader View; in other words the displayed text eliminates one or more of the initial article paragraphs - it starts somewhere in the middle.

Is this a known issue? It's been an issue to me since Reader View was introduced.
