Sidebar now displays bookmarks almost double spaced. How to get them back to single space?

As of Firefox 48 on my Mac, my sidebar bookmarks now have about a 1.5 gap, not quite double space between them. This makes the vertical listing of my bookmarks more expanded so I see a lot less of my bookmarks on the screen. I now have to scroll up and down to see the entire list, wheras I used to be able to see them all on the screen without needing to scroll. How do I get them back to the single space spacing like in previous versions? I see no option for this in the "about" page.
