Do you have this problem in Firefox? I would expect Firefox to use the same "handler" for Email Link (commonly found on the classic File menu, Alt+f to activate) and Email Image. If they are handled differently, that might indicate that an add-on is involved. Do you have any Photoshop-related add-ons??

I clicked on the email link in Firefox and it opened Photoshop

Thank you jscher. You gave me an idea where to look. Problem solved . Photoshop was selected in Options/Applications/mailto.
