How can I change the color of visited links?

Actually, it's a little bit complicated because Firefox has a default color but normally allows websites to choose their own link colors. If you set Firefox to ignore website colors, unfortunately that affects everything and not just links...

Let's start with the default color. If purple doesn't suit you, you can change that on the Options page:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Content, and on the right side, the Colors button.

When you click the purple rectangle, Firefox should display a palette of standard colors to choose from.


If you want more options, you can use a site like the following to determine the hex code of the color, and enter it a different way. I'll give you the steps if needed.

If there is a problem with a particular website not honoring your selected colors, could you provide a link to it? In past threads, there have turned out to be a variety of reasons for that, which range from page style rules to weirdly constructed tracking URLs, so it's hard to provide a general solution.
