What is the MX Records for transferring?
I moved my company website from HostGator to Webs.com The issue is that I can't get the emails to transfer. Webs.com days I need to fill in : 1. The Host (which is Thunderbird) 2. The Address (No idea what that is) 3. Record (which I believe is MX) and 4. the Priority (Again, no idea what that is). Someone please help me! I believe all I need is the 4 thibgs from up above and then I should be good. Thank you!

Thunderbird is not your host. I guess Hostgator was your host. I'd assume webs.com is your new host. But you haven't said precisely what role either of these play in managing your email.
My old host was HostGator. My new host is Webs. Telling you the hosts was just for backstory so you guys would understand what I am doing. I need the MX Records to enter into Webs to get my email to 'sync'/'forward' whatever the terminology is. Right now I can not access my old email. Webs says to enter the Host, Address, Record and Priority and then my email will 'sync'/'forward'/whatever. I just need that info.

Contact you host for help. None of this has anything to do with Thunderbird.
This page has a tool to let you discover different kinds of DNS records for your domain if you can't easily find them in your control panel at HostGator:
http://www.kloth.net/services/dig.php
For domain, use what appears on the right side of your email address (do not include www, etc.)
For query, change from A to MX
Wait a minute. Did you already start receiving mail at your new host? Then your MX records should already point to your new host and you would not want to change them back, since then new email would go to your old host. Please phone them and have them walk you though this step-by-step to avoid losing your live email service.
Thank you very much for your help jscher2000 !
This has got to be a common problem...but no answer as yet. Just moved my website and email to network Solutions and I want my Thunderbird account moved there also. The people at Network Solutions said that I first must get the "MX Records" numbers from Thunderbird to do this chore. I can't get any live person at TBird to answer my question or help me. Anybody out in computerland help me???
What part of "Thunderbird is not your provider" are you having an issue with. As explained above in this thread and in the thread you opened, you get mx records from your old host. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1135390
I'm locking this thread to prevent others from chiming in, thinking that this is a Thunderbird issue. As the replies above state, Thunderbird is not an email provider; it's a client.
