All my passwords and bookmarks are missing after Firefox updated to 47. I was able to get the bookmarks back, but I'm not able to get the passwords back after trying every suggestion I have found. Can you please help. Thank you in advance.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.


These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

Note that you need the logins.json and key3.db files to recover the passwords.

How did you recover the bookmarks?

If you have TrendMicro software then try to uninstall the TrendMicro Password Manager via the Windows Control Panel.
