i am trying to check for updates,it tells me click help,but i do that and nothing happens,how do i get help to work,i refreshed and help is still useless,whats

i am trying to check for updates,it tells me to click help,but help is not working,i refreshed and help is still useless,i can't figure out how else to check for updates,cos i keep getting a popup to update firefox and it keeps interupting me,i am not going to update that way cos i never heard of issuer and it isn't firefox,and i'm not a fan of viruses,how do i get help to work or stop this popup from unknown publisher,thanx for any advice

You posted here with the newest Release version of Firefox.

Very wise to ignore spontaneous popups about needing a Firefox update. Mozilla doesn't provide notifications like that via popups, and there's been a rash of that going around for the last week or two.

If you can grab the URL for those popups, you can report those to Mozilla here to get the particular URL blocked. https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/

Or open Help > Report Web Forgery to help us keep the web safe from phishing sites. That will add the URL to the anti-phishing list.
