I have been having a lot of problems with popups and browser switching, despite refreshing Firefox, and having popups blocked

Posted

For 2-3 weeks I have been having problems with using Firefox on my mac laptop. I continually get pop-up windows when I go to search. I have all pop-ups turned off.

It will switch browsers on me. I prefer to use Google but it will switch to Bing or Yahoo.

I have refreshed my Firefox but continue to have problems.

What is in those unwanted pop-ups? Ads?

Adblock Plus {web link} Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more. Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).

Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon {web link} Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon extends the blocking functionality of Adblock Plus to those annoying pop-up windows that open on mouse clicks and other user actions.

Are you talking about browsers, home pages, or search engines?

I meant search engines instead of browsers - sorry.

I deleted and reinstalled Firefox and added Adblock and it seems to be running more smoothly - at least for now. The popups would be generally classed as "ads"
