Two Pop-Up Windows Open When Firefox Is First Opened Each Day (MAC)

When I first turn on my computer and open Firefox I get two pop-up windows that open with Firefox. One is a malware type window that says something to the effect of "fix your mac of errors". I can't remember what the second window says. Either way it is super annoying and I want it to stop! I have ran Malwarebytes scans, and have ran my Sophos antivirus scans as well and nothing has come up. My browser does not seem to have been hijacked as my homepage and everything else is in tact. I know how to uninstall Firefox, but I am not sure where to find the Firefox folder that needs to be deleted to make Firefox a completely new install. If someone could instruct me on how to do that I would appreciate that!

Mac Malware Scanners https://discussions.apple.com/message/29938930#29938930

You can also try https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/index.html

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar.

There are two settings;

  • When Firefox Starts

When the browser is started, what do you want to display. Many of us choose Show My Home Page.

  • Home Page

When a new page is opened, what do you want displayed.

  1. Use Current Page. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
  2. Use Bookmark
  3. Restore To Default. about:home shows a Mozilla home page with tools.

You can use any of these that you wish;

about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),

or you can enter any webpage or about: page you want.

I have already ran Malwarebytes scans with no malware found.

I already know how to choose what I want displayed when FF starts.

I would just like like to know how to start fresh with a new install.
