When I try to search nothing happens. If I use a bookmark the address bar remains empty.
I can't seem to do anything at all with firefox. I can see all my bookmarks etc but when I try to click on anything or search anything, nothing happens at all. The address bar just remains empty. No prompts or error messages appear. Just nothing at all.

hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

thanks, please try to update to firefox 46.0.1, which is available from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ (it was just released a short while ago and contains a fix for page loading issues very similar as in your description)
