Rapport problems continue with FF45.0.1
Rapport does not work since Firefox 41. I have two PCs running Windows 7, Firefox 45.0.1, Kaspersky Internet Security, everything updated daily. Rapport console says it is running v1507.113 but no icon appears on toolbar and when I log in to my banks, they invite me to download Rapport even though it is there and running.
I have spent many hours trying to fix this. In January Rapport's chatline told me they will fix it sometime, meantime I should use another browser although Firefox is used by 20% of internet users. Rapport does work with Internet Explorer but I do not wish to use IE.
Rapport did suggest downloading its latest version but it was there already. Rapport website does not give its current version, it is necessary to download from Rapport site and choose Properties to determine the version number. Sometimes auto update is not working. On Feb 10 for example Rapport control console said that version 1507.105 was current, I selected “check for update” on the Rapport console and it confirmed that 1507.105 was current, but when I went to Rapport website, downloaded Rapport and checked Properties I found the current version was 1507.109.
Please can someone help with this continual Rapport problem?

Unfortunately Rapport has long been a thorn in the side of Firefox users, it is a poorly developed product that frequently breaks since it relies on ancient and unstable technology. There is nothing Mozilla can do to improve the reliability of a third-party program, this is very much in the wheelhouse of Rapport to fix.
As a Rapport users, you have the most power to get them to fix their software and should complain to them.
Trusteer Rapport may have more than one product.
One user recently got a fix after complaining to Rapport after Trusteer software crashed the computer repeatedly. In that case special instructions had to be followed

Thank you Tyler, even this non-techie can see there is something odd about Rapport. I have complained several times pointing out that around 20% of people use FF but clearly they can't fix it. It is used by many US banks and in the UK by the Co-Op, Santander and Coventry Building Society among others.
I am now contacting these banks as their customer and telling them that Rapport does not work with FF and its staff merely stalls when they receive complaints, or does not reply at all. The response so far is that I should advise the third party contractor Trusteer that there is a problem. Kafka could not have devised better.
An interesting situation could arise if the banks repudiate a fraud claim because the customer did not use Rapport. I am keeping this thread and my mail relating to it just in case.
I am in the UK and at one time Trusteer Software was involved in processing & verification of my credit or debit card payments. Financial institutions in this and other countries obviously promote use of Trusteer software.
However when I stopped using such recommended Trusteer software I still had no difficulty. The banks concerned obviously have suitable alternative procedures they can employ.
