Thanks for the reply. I did get all the e-mail accounts restored. The only problem (really an inconvenience) was that after I had re-created the account and pointed it to the local folder for that account, Thunderbird downloaded all the e-mails from the remote server again so now I have doubles of everything. I guess that may have to do with Centurylink taking over Embarq. When I looked at the popstate files, I saw that it has two sections: one that has Centurylink at its head and one that has Embarqmail at its head. I found files in each section with the same long alpha-numeric identifier but has a different number following the = sign. Anyway, thank you for your help.
