Multiple Accounts, ONLY want emails to download into ACTUAL account folder. Emails are downloaded to ALL account folders.
I have multiple accounts using the server GMX.com. I am coming from Live Mail; in that program, any emails downloaded ONLY went to the respective folder for that email address.
In Thunderbird, downloaded emails go to EVERY email address folder.
What I want to accomplish; if an email is addressed to Address #1, I ONLY want that folder to receive that email, not Addresses #1, + #2, + #3 etc. I want to be clear, I DO NOT WANT 1 Global Folder like so many here do! I want emails to download ONLY in the Address/Folder that it was sent to (I want to keep SEPARATE email addresses/folders).
Here is how I setup my preferences. Account settings>ServerSettings>Copies&Folders>PlaceaCopyIn>LEFT BLANK I did not specify that I wanted a copy in another folder but that is what happens. I have tried searching other posts but unfortunately can't find an answer to my problem.
Any help much appreciated!

Make sure it's set to View|Folders|All.
I tried it both with "all" marked and without "all" marked. Unfortunately no change, all emails go into all the different folders not just the one they should.

I'm wondering if you have multiple accounts with GMX or multiple identities with a single account. Could you please look at this article and check? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-identities If you have multiple accounts, then you should by default have separate inboxes for each one in your folder list. If you have multiple identities, then by default all incoming mail should go to the same inbox, but the article tells you how to set up a different folder for the replies etc. you send from each identity. If you have different identities and you want incoming mail for each of them to go into a different folder, you can accomplish that by creating message filters. The incoming mail will still all go into the inbox for that account but the filters can then copy or move the messages for each identity to separate 'incoming mail' folders that you create for them. (It's confusing to try to discuss your problem in terms of email 'addresses' because you could have several addresses one for each account or several addresses all for the same account, as the article explains.)
