Multiple (750+) tabs opened automatically for no reason!

Posted

Hello, After I watched a documentary using the BBC iPlayer site, I downloaded a copy to watch it later on. The browser (latest beta ver) for no reason that I could see - automatically opened over 750 tabs. The download seemed to take ages, and I wonder if this is a common problem. Let me know if more info is needed.

Hi hsmatysiak, Was there a file extension associated with the download? Please be careful with downloads from third party sites.

Please first try rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions. Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data

You get tabs opening endlessly if you select the Firefox program to handle a file when you get an "Open with" dialog.

Try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder. You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
