Is there a way to make self-signed certificate trusted without adding the IP to the certificate exception list?

Hello Mozillians,

I am noticing an weird issue as mentioned below :

When we launch the application in firefox with IPV6 address and login to the application, IP is changing to uncompressed format (i.e appending 0:0:0 in the IPV6 address), Say if IP before logging in to the application is fe80::xyz, after logging in IP is changing to fe80:0:0:0:xyz ( which is observed in network section of the web console ). And once the IP changes it is displayin error message "The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed certificate, The certificate is only valid for "XYZ"" in the console, because of this pages were not loading in firefox.

If we add the Uncompressed IP ( fe80:0:0:0:xyz) in the exception certificate list, pages are loading fine.

So, is there any security settings that needs to be taken care.? It's irritating to add the IP everytime in the exception list(When there is a change in the IPv6 address) Or Is there a way to make self-signed certificate trusted without adding the IP to the certificate exception list?

Any thoughts ??

Note : The issue is observed only in firefox (In all the versions of firefox, checked in FF33,38,42), it is working fine in IE and chrome

Thanks in advance.
