Problem summary: Thunderbird always send messages from its thirst (main) tab but SOMETIMES would not send messages out from the second or third tab (while new emails can still be sent from the first tab with no problem), until the Thunderbird is restarted.

Hi everyone,

I have a strange problem. When I start the Thunderbird everything is working well: I can receive, create, and send new emails from the main tab of the Thunderbird. Then, when I need to answer somebody's email message, Thunderbird opens a second tab (or a third tab, if the second tab has been opened to review some other email message). Then, when I click the Send button to send my email from the second or the third tab, sometimes (it is about 20% cases) I get an error message something like "Sending message failed. Cannot connect to the mail server". And there is a Retry and Cancel buttons. If I click the Retry button the same problem would reoccur. However, if I go back to the first tab of the Thunderbird and create a new email message then I can send this new email with no problem. Then, if I go back to the second (or the third tab as described above) and try sending the unsent message again it would not work.

Then, if I save the unsent message in the Draft folder, close and restart the Thunderbird and open this unsent message, I can send it with no problem.

Summarizing all the above, Thunderbird always send messages from its thirst (main) tab but SOMETIMES would not send messages out from the second or third tab (while new emails can still be sent from the first tab with no problem), until the Thunderbird is restarted.

Thank you very much on advance for your help in solving this problem. For references, my operating system Windows 8.1
