Firefox crashes

Posted

Hi, having some browser problems. Firefox won't start even in Safe Mode and I get crash report popup every time I attempt to open it. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice with no luck. I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and that doesn't work either. I don't know what to do at this point. Any ideas?

Here's what it says in the latest crash report.

I have a similar problem. Do you use Windows? If so, try to launch firefox from the command prompt using "firefox" then press enter. Mine seems to work only in that case which is weird.

I use Windows 7 Pro. It does the same thing even from the command prompt. It's a puzzler.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

If the above does not help, try a clean re-install.

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to Submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
