I've transferred Firefox from one PC to another, (both are Windows 10), and have lost most of my saved passwords. How can I get them back, or can I?
With a flash drive, I THOUGHT I had transferred Firefox, and all of my passwords/logins with it, but when I go to options>security>, bring up the saved password dialog box, and scroll through them, at least 75% of them are missing. As one can easily infer, this has caused me some MAJOR headaches. By not being able to remember them, ( BTW, the flash drive had already been formatted), I can't access many of my very important websites...to pay bills, banking, etc. Can anyone tell me if there is any way at all to retrieve them?

Did you restore both logins.json and key3.db files from the Flash drive to the current Firefox profile folder?

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.
These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.
