I've never heard of a Mozilla account that will store your bookmarks like the Cloud. That's above my pay grade. That said, if your hard drive will still spin up you may be able to get the bookmarks back. When you say "broke" what exactly do you mean? Some drives just stop. you may as well have hit them with a hammer. Others, like mine, start to loose sectors and you get unexpected errors. In the first case You will have to send the drive to a recovery service. They take the discs out and install them in another "drive" so they can write the information to a backup drive. That can be very expensive. If your drive is in the second category, like mine, there may still be hope. Post back what your situation is. Sorry for your loss

Too bad i thought that maybe the sync mechanism between devices meant that there is some cloud storage for the history.

As for the hard drive , i couldn't find out if it is a mechanical or logical failure, the disk doesn't make any weird sounds , but when i tried connecting it to another computer ( by a SATA to USB connector ) the system did not catch the device. BIOS test for the hard drive gave error quick 303 , a quick search made me realize my data was gone for good ( unless im willing to pay a lot to get it back )

and thanks a lot for your reply!

Did you previously use Sync to sync bookmarks and history?

Note that Sync isn't designed to be used as a backup device, but merely to sync data between multiple devices. It is not guaranteed that you can restore data from the Sync server in case of problems with your OS or because you otherwise lost data. Requesting a new password because you forgot it or changing the password for the Firefox Sync account will wipe all data stored on the Sync server and you won't be able to retrieve data that was stored previously.

Best is always to backup your personal data locally to be sure to be able to recover from issues.
