On the blue toolbar at the top of the facebook page I have lost all of the symbols.
This happened after the last update to Mozilla that happened on December 19th. Also have lost icons from "groups" on the left of the screen.

In order to make sure that there is not a corrupt cached page of facebook.com.
Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- Click the menu button , choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the "Clear Now" button.
Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Firefox 42+ has a new Tracking Protection feature that is enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. You can see a shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar when you are in private browsing mode that some content is blocked. You can disable this feature in "Options/Preferences > Privacy".
- Options/Preferences > Privacy: "Use Tracking Protection in Private Windows"
43.0.2 is the version that I have installed. Tracking does NOT seem to be the problem. Just had to reinstall the program. Obviously there was some sort of glitch in the installation. In looking on the internet others have had the same problem and have also solved it with a re-installation.
