You can turn off search suggestions (detailed docs are here: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/change-your-default-search-engine-firefox-ios ):

  1. Tap the tab counter
  2. Tap the gear icon
  3. Tap Search
  4. Tap "Show Search Suggestions" slider until it is white (orange means ON, white means off)
