I am doing a migration and need to know the location of the passwords file for Firefox, please.
I am migrating from an older system to a newer system.
I need the location of the password file, please.
I tried to migrate and overwrite the entire Firefox folder, but the passwords weren't transferred?
I cannot use sync on the cloud. This is a secured laptop and the Cloud doesn't offer sufficient safeguards.
TIA.

I suggest backing up your entire old profile folder. This article has more information on how to find it, depending on the OS of the system you're coming from, you might need to adjust the selector in the left column of the article, under Editing Tools, Customize this Article:
Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Note there is a second location used for the disk cache and other temporary storage in AppData\Local, but there is no need to backup this data.
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
