Problem solved - downloaded lighting and installed again and luckily all appointments are still showing..................

This has happened to me also - twice in the last couple of months using Windows 7 pro and now 10 pro operating systems. Likewise I downloaded the lightning app which I had presumed was included in the Thunderbird update and all is well again. Please Mozilla fix this bug.
