Where is the Log out tab for Thunderbird email? (Windows 7)
I don't usually leave my email open, and I just downloaded Thunderbird on my laptop. Everything works fine except I cannot find the log out tab.

You don't log into Thunderbird so there is no need for a log out. There is a red x in the upper right corner to close the program.
Thank you for your reply airmail.. I am asked to log into my Thunderbird email, with a password, so why wouldn't I want to log out of it?
No. You are asked for a username and password by your email providers server to get your mail. You do not log out of that either.
So there is no point in me installing this software on my wife's laptop, as it means anyone with access to the laptop can access my email?
Why would anyone think this is a good idea?
They would have access to any downloaded messages. If you do not let Thunderbird save the email password that would have to be entered to get new messages.
You do not need a pasword to open MS Word and read your documents. Email clients are no different. That is why security is built into operating systems, but not many people seem to use that feature. If you do not want people to access your laptop password protect your user login.
