Am using 1and1 webmailer and when I try to attach a file of 1mb or more to an outgoing message I get a 500 error "Internal server error" -

Am using 1and1 webmailer and when I try to attach a file of 1mb or more to an outgoing email message I get a 500 error "Internal server error" after a delay of about 5 minutes. I have also had a similar problem uploading 1 mb pictures to websites but varying error messages. 1and1 say that the problem is with Firefox, as I have no problems with such attachments using Chrome. 

I have Firefox 42; this problem did not occur with earlier versions of Firefox - it may have been present in version 41.

Is there some setting in config which needs to be changed (I will be careful, honest!)?
