One particular web site won't load, and I was previously able to view the site roughly 2 weeks ago. It's a free WordPress site/blog.

I keep getting the error message "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." I've tried deleting all cookies and emptying the cache with no success. I also tried a "DNS Flusher" with the same result.

I've followed all the recommendations on the Firefox Help link and checked the Community and FAQ sections with no luck.

I can view the page in Safari. The web site owner can view the web site using a setup similar to mine (Mac OS 10.5, Firefox 12.0).

Nothing I know have has changed since I was able to view the site 2 weeks ago i.e., I'm not going through a proxy server nor do I have any secondary security or anti-virus programs running.

Any help would be appreciated.

Chosen solution

That website doesn't work with a Firefox 12 user agent. Firefox 13 works, so best would be to install Firefox 16 as that is the last version that runs on your OS.

I WAS able to view the site with Firefox 12 so it SHOULD work however, now it doesn't.

Upgrading to Firefox 16 did solve my problem! I was hesitant to do so for fear of losing my settings, favorites, etc., but 16 imported everything correctly without any intervention on my part.

Thanks for your suggestion!

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.
