My newly updated Firefox browser crashes (freezes) with a blue rotating cursor that never reloads. The crash begins after I have loaded such websites as: The Daily Caller, Huffington Post (when accessing offshoot links), and other websites. A fog/mist covers the website page when it crashes as well.

When I exit the website, a Firefox message balloon pops up asking me 1) to i want to exit the program or 2) waiting for the site to continue to load. I always choose to exit the site. Then when I click on FIrefox again it goes directly to the infected site by passing my HOME PAGE. After reloading the site, the site functions for a few moments then crashes again.

My action taken: I deleted Firefox and reloaded a new version of Firefox. Problem did not go away. I also REFRESHED Firefox. Again, problem did not go away.

I suspect it's Malware....I have both McAfee Total Protection and Trojan Killer (Malware and Trojans). Both have scanned, but problem remains.

How do I fix my Firefox crash problem?

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Issues have been previously linked to the McAfee Site Advisor extension. Try to disable it and see if the problem persists.

To disable it: Type "about:addons" in the Location bar Find the extension and click on its "Disable" button

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
