random advertising tabs open

I have had trouble with Trovi, reset browers on all three platforms (Firefox, Chrome, IE). Tried uninstalling FF and just ended up losing all saved passwords. Ran Malaware, ADW Cleaner, Microsoft security essentials. Removed tons of stuff and still have problems where after opening one tab, multiple other advertising tabs open at the same time. Is there a solution to this? No add-ons are installed besides adblock plus.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar and search for prefs that refer to trovi. You can reset user set (bold) prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.

Did you remove your personal data when you uninstalled Firefox without first backing up this data?
