Firefox is aready running. it started recently why?

I have already read the answers regarding the question I have asked but non satisfy me therefore asking here.

Nothing is changed on computer nor added any new extension/Add-ons. When I exit Firefox and want to start I get the message that "Firefox is already running" please refer screen shot.

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click on it, and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.

This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}
