I use OS 10.9.5 Build 13F1096. In System Preferences, Users & Groups, Login Items I have added Firefox 39.0 to the list of applications that open at startup but it usually closes immediately after it opens. Is there a remedy? Thank you.

That looks a problem with Trusteer software (RapportTanzanxx.DLL).

Make sure that you have the latest updates of your Trusteer software. You can try to contact Trusteer for support.

Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now.

  • Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

Mac:System Preferences -> Other -> Rapport -> Stop Rapport

Is it closing, or crashing?

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

I already uninstalled Trusteer Rapport about 2 weeks ago.

All the crash reports have RapportTanzan380.dylib in the crashing thread as you can see if you click any of the links to inspect the report, so it looks that you were unsuccessful with uninstalling Trusteer.

Yes, you are correct. I had only stopped Trusteer Rapport but after uninstalling it and restarting the computer Firefox opened and then it immediately closed.
