Dear Firefox OS community

I use Firefox 2.0 on Alcatel One Touch Fire E. I have problems downloading files via Firefox web browser or Gmail using the mail app. When I check in the folder 'downloads' in 'Internal Storage' using the file browser, I see these files downloaded, but they have a size of 0B. Also there are a bunch of '.part' files. In case I try downloading a PDF, these part files have the same name as the downloaded pdf.

Please have a look at this.

Thanks and Best regards Ajay

There are download issues that are fixed in later versions of Firefox OS. Have you tried updating your device?

Hi Andrew

My current Firefox OS has a version number - 2.0.0.0-03 004 . When I click on Settings>Device Information>System Updates>Check for updates, it just says 'searching for updates' and then 'Attention: Please try later'. Is there a newer version out to which i am not able to update?

Thanks.

Best regards Ajay

Please check for updates by following these steps:

Note: It is recommended to download updates over Wi-fi extra charges incurred from your carrier for excessive data usage.

  1. Open the Settings application by tapping the Settings App (small) icon.
  2. Tap the Device Information button.
  3. Tap the Check now button.
  4. A notification will appear in the notification bar if an update is available.
  5. Swipe down the notification bar to get to the utility tray and install the updates.

Note: The Intex Cloud FX has a known issue where users receive an error message whenever attempting to update the device. This error message means that there is no update available.

Please contact your manufacturer for specific questions about software and security updates.

Hello

I checked with Alcatel and they say there is no update to 2.1 or 2.2 for my phone Alcatel One touch FIre E. Can I manually install the latest version on my phone? Is there a how-to for it?

Thanks Ajay
