Only a few, but necessary selections on the Dept. of Planning and Development website don't work, unless I open it in explorer. What settings do I need to change? Someone at that department said, "It doesn't always work on Firefox." Is this chronic?

Everything appears to work properly in my Firefox browser. Therefore the website should be compatible with Firefox.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Thanks, Wesley. I deleted the Cache and cookies, but the missing functions remained missing. Much of the site works, but not the "Find Status and Activity" section of the first page, or the sections of the page that is opened when one clicks on the map.

Press Ctrl+F5 to reload the page bypassing the cache.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Do you see the button or link code selected if you right-click this element and click Inspect Element to open the built-in Inspector?
