Just wanted to get rid of all cookies. Push the button. Nothing happens.

By clear cache dialogue I assume you mean under options, privacy, remove individual cookies, remove all --? Oddly enough, this time when I went in to track the path back, I clicked on the button and it worked. Go figure.

Where is the permissions pathway to do the same by the way? Thanks.

HI BlackberryPi, For which site are you removing all cookies from. There are two places to do this: one from the page info window under permissions and the other in the preferences and two in the Clear Cache dialogue.

Some cookies never expire or are set to dates out side of the scope that Firefox deletes from. When clearing cache of cookies, you may have to go in to individual pages to remove some cookies.

There are some add ons that make this a bit more direct. You might find one of these helpful:

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Tools > Page Info > Permissions is where you can check whether you allow cookies from a website. It doesn't deal with actual cookies.

You can inspect and manage the cookies for the domain in the currently selected tab:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
  • Click "View Cookies" to view the cookies for the domain in the currently selected tab

OK thank you for explaining that, it sounds like that only deals with one particular website at a time, yes?

Yes, Tools > Page Info > Permissions is only for the domain of the current tab.

You can inspect and manage permissions for all domains on the about:permissions page.

This page however only shows a few permissions, but the cookie settings are present.
